Diamondbacks Game - Goodbye Gonzo

I got home from work Friday night and was waiting for Marcia to come home when she called me. "Hey, someone is giving away tickets to the game tonight, do you want to go?"

This would be the 3rd to last game of the season and the big news all week was how the D-Backs had decided not to renew Luis Gonzalez or Craig Counsel for next season. They are also changing the team colors next as if that will somehow make the team win more games. Resigning core players like Gonzo is how you build a winning team.

Anyway, we headed to the ballpark and found our seats. We were on the 3rd base side just past the dougouts in the 5th row. Not bad! The seats were way better than any other seat we have had there before. We got to watch Gonzo run past between innings and it ended up being a pretty good game. D-Backs beat the Padres 3-1 in the end.
